The State of California has established ambitious greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals of 40% below 1990 levels by 2030 and 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is key to mitigating the negative impacts of climate change that are already affecting Californians and achieving these ambitious goals means reducing gas and electricity consumption while also increasing renewable energy production.
In addition, energy efficiency provides positive outcomes such as:
Lower utility bills
Improved indoor comfort levels
Improved indoor air quality
Increased building durability and value
